  The eel punt is a great flatwing style pattern developed for striped bass that will work for any of the saltwater bass species. Although it will work during the day, I think it does best tied dark and used as a night fly offering a large profile and strong silhouette. Because of it's length it's also a decent pattern for avoiding smaller fish, they may still attack the fly but you'll tend to hook only the better specimens.
